Mastering Your Mindpower: Part II

We've discussed the basic philosophy of "mind programming," how it happens and how it effects our lives. The next step is to understand how we can change what we've been given in our lives.

Let's go back to our towel-folding example and pretend that, for some reason, your towel-folding pattern is somehow limiting you. I know this is a bit of a stretch, but understanding the concept simplistically will help you in the long run. Let's say your spouse prefers the towels to be folded a different way and this minor issue is causing problems in your relationship.

You argue over the towels and make the towel folding issue a big problem in your household. All of a sudden your pattern towel folding is causing you to have an unhappy home life. Wouldn't you want to change your method of towel folding immediately? It might feel odd at first, and you might have to correct yourself on several occasions. But eventually the new method of towel folding will be as natural and second nature as your old method way.

Changing old beliefs and habits works in exactly the same way. Once a belief or attitude no longer serves us, it takes time and effort to break away from that way of behavior. However, when we have problems in our lives the solution is not always so clear. We may begin to think that we are destined for failure or simply don't have the ability to succeed.

Just like towel folding, these automatic behaviors and thoughts are part of your mental programming. If they are causing you pain and disruption in your life, you can change them just as simply and easily.

It may take some time and some effort, but mastering your mindpower is definitely possible. Using specific techniques for understanding your limiting beliefs and changing them will free you from old patterns and allow you to achieve the success that you've dreamed of.
