The
True Power of the Mind Part III: Programming Your Subconscious Mind
Let's
look at a practical example of how programming the subconscious mind works. For
example, you live in an apartment and want to move into a big house. If you spend
time each day thinking about how much you hate your apartment and negatively tell
yourself that you will never get out of the apartment, then you won't create the
conditions that will allow you to buy that house. You will find seemingly unexpected
problems getting in the way of your true desires. Since you've fed your subconscious
nothing but negative thoughts then you'll reap the results of that negative thinking.
To
take control of your subconscious mind, you need to tell it exactly what you want.
Once you do this, and you remain positive about your expectations, your subconscious
mind will go straight to work for you. Your subconscious mind does not sleep.
Once you activate its power with proper programming it will start working in
your life immediately, and around the clock.
In
some ways, the subconscious mind is like a computer. It is much more complex than
a computer and sometimes works in unknown ways, but it is working. Because of
its similarities to a computer, achieving success with the subconscious mind
is often called programming. Just like with computers, you have to give the
subconscious mind the right program for your success.
How
do you program your subconscious mind? There are many methods and you will need
to pick which is the most comfortable and successful for you. Many people find
success in fervently repeated affirmations. When affirmations are repeated
positively each day, they have a programming effect on the subconscious mind.
Other people prefer to use guided mediation and other forms of imagery
to imprint their subconscious mind with their desires.
Meditation,
like affirmations, should be repeated every day for maximum results. Some people
find that using hypnosis is the most effective way to program their subconscious
mind. Hypnosis allows the hypnotist to program the subconscious mind at very deep
levels for success.
Just
with physical exercise practices, these programming exercises take effort and
commitment. You may find that meditation works great for you while affirmations
may not help at all. Hypnosis works well for others, and not for some. Finding
what works for your subconscious mind is part of the process.
